Soris partners with Dr. Yuji Okuno and Dr. Osman Ahmed to advance MSK embolization and expand access to minimally invasive pain treatment across the United States. Through these partnerships, our teams connect directly to the specialists who refine these embolization techniques.
Dr. Okuno serves as our Founding Physician and Dr. Ahmed as our Chief Medical Officer. Together, they guide our clinical vision by building skilled provider teams and delivering protocol oversight, clinical training, and operational excellence.
Dr. Yuji Okuno, MD, PhD, is our Founding Physician and the pioneer of genicular artery embolization (GAE) for knee osteoarthritis. His research established how blocking abnormal blood vessels calms inflammation in arthritic joints, paving the way for the field of MSK embolization today.
At CIRSE 2023 in Copenhagen he received the Award of Excellence and Innovation in Interventional Radiology. Under Dr. Okuno's leadership, our physicians are thoroughly trained in his pioneer techniques, keeping our GAE protocols true to the original standard.
Dr. Osman Ahmed, MD, FSIR, FCIRSE, is our Chief Medical Officer and an authority in MSK embolization and procedural innovation. His work expands the clinical applications of embolization across joint and vascular targets.
He was selected for the Society of Interventional Radiology's Leadership and Development Academy, received the 2020 Gary Becker Young Investigator Award, and serves as a Deputy Editor for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is also a Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah. Soris Pain & Vascular Institute brings that research into treatment planning at every one of our centers.

Soris treats a wide range of conditions including Joint Pain (e.g. knee osteoarthritis), Arterial & Circulation (e.g. Peripheral Artery Disease), Venous & Vein (e.g. Varicose Veins), and Dialysis Access Management, among other conditions.
Chronic joint pain is our primary focus. Knee osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, and tennis elbow respond to targeted embolization procedures such as GAE and PFE. We also treat uterine fibroids and benign prostatic hyperplasia with embolization.
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) blocks blood flow to the lower limbs, causing pain, coldness, non-healing wounds, and potential complete blockage. Vein issues like chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins stem from weakened valves.
